Canva unveiled Canva Visual Worksuite—a suite of workplace products—last September with the goal of empowering anyone to communicate visually on any device.
One of the products in the suite is Canva Docs, a collaborative document app that makes traditional text documents more visually captivating. The Australia-based company recently announced that it’s rolling out Canva Docs to its global community of 110 million monthly active users. On the back of this news, Canva is also unveiling Magic Write, an AI-powered copywriting assistant, exclusive to Canva Docs.

With Magic Write in Canva Docs, you can stop staring at a blank screen for hours hoping that words will magically appear and stitch themselves together. With this AI writing tool, you can simply type what’s on your mind and the tool will create the starting point for you in seconds: from a strategy document to a meeting agenda, a marketing brief and more. You can also generate a new version of your existing text and include tone of voice in your Magic Write “brief.”

Magic Write can help you brainstorm initial ideas, or draft social media posts, business plans, customer support responses, product descriptions, and proposals. You can generate these at the touch of a button, ready to be proofed and edited.
Designed with visuals in mind, you can also access Canva’s extensive library of over 100 million design elements, including videos, images, graphics, charts, and more.

In addition, Canva’s recently released Text to Image tool lets you create custom images and art from a simple description in seconds. Then, embed any Canva design into your document, from videos to presentations, without leaving the page.
Turns docs to decks
Canva is also introducing Docs for Decks in Canva Docs. Similar to Magic Resize, which lets users magically convert any type of Canva design to another, Docs for Decks transforms a document into a fully-fledged presentation with the click of a button.

Real-time collaboration also powers the Canva Docs experience. Teams can brainstorm, create and fine-tune their ideas – all at the same time.
Users can then share Canva Docs like any other Canva design directly with a team, or the public, with comment, view and edit permissions or even publish it as an interactive website.
Canva Docs and Magic Write are now in open beta. Magic Write can be used for free up to 25 times. To get access to Canva Docs and supercharge your writing with Magic Write, join the open beta here.
