Canon Philippines has announced the local pricing and availability of the Canon EOS R50 and R8 two months after their global launch.
The Canon EOS R50 is a compact, lightweight APS-C mirrorless camera packed with many fun, creative tools, and automated features that allow users to create high-quality vlogs and images easily with minimal camera operation.
It’s equipped with a 24.2MP APS-C format image sensor capable of producing high-quality cropless 4K 30p video oversampled from 6K worth of data.
It also features Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system, which detects and tracks people, animals, vehicles; a Movie for Close-up Demo mode that quickly and automatically switches focus to the subject closest to the camera; two different Movie IS (Image Stabilizer) levels; and auto leveling mode.
The new Canon EOS R50 is available in all Canon Image Squares, Concept Stores, Canon Online Flagship Stores, and select authorized partner retailers nationwide. You’ll also get a free 64GB SD card with your purchase.

Meanwhile, the EOS R8 full-frame camera combines many of the powerful video and still shooting features of the EOS R6 Mark II—such as Canon Log 3 and up to 40 fps continuous shooting—with the portability of the EOS RP.
It’s equipped with a 24.2MP sensor and can shoot uncropped and oversampled 4K video at 60fps or Full HD video at up to 180fps.
Like the R50, the R8 comes Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, as well as Movie Digital IS, which digitally performs tilt correction as well as 5-axis image stabilization during video shooting.
The R8 offers two options for recording: 10-bit 4:2:2 high dynamic range video: HDR PQ provides amazing dynamic range and beautiful colors straight out of camera, and Canon Log 3, which offers more flexibility for heavier post-processing workflows that involve color grading.
The Canon EOS R8 can be purchased in all Canon Image Squares, Concept Stores, Canon Online Flagship Stores and select authorized partner retailers nationwide starting mid-April. You’ll get a free 128GB SD card and a free Lens Loan Voucher worth P5,000.
