A captivating exhibit showcasing the works of Filipino contemporary artist Marlon Luceñara is on display until November 20 at Belmont Hotel Manila’s lobby.
The exhibit, titled “Hiraya: Ang Hugis ng Imahinasyon ni Marlon Luceñara,” features his sculptures and abstract paintings.
Hailing from Sagay City, Negros Occidental, Luceñara started with only P200 and an abundance of creativity, where he transformed scrap materials from a junk shop into art. His resourcefulness exemplifies the power of imagination, which he believes can transform dreams into reality.
He recounts how, through his dedication to creating various art sculptures and experimenting with painting, he was able to achieve his dreams and provide a better life for his family. “Nothing is impossible with the Lord, supported by prayer, hard work, and perseverance,” he said.
Today, Luceñara enjoys significant recognition in the art community, having received several prestigious awards, including Kinetic Sculpture of the Year, Art Award 2023, and Sining Award 2023.
“Hiraya” is part of Belmont Hotel Manila’s lobby art exhibit series, which aims to preserve Filipino culture and promote local artists. This is the fourth time the hotel has provided a platform for artists to showcase their work, and they are committed to continuing this initiative.
Visitors can view and purchase Luceñara’s works at the Belmont Honte until November 20.
