It’s been almost two years since Ford launched the Territory—and it continues to be a popular choice among buyers. Proof, you ask? Well, according to the latest data that we have, Ford Philippines has sold more than 10,000 units of its small SUV.

So what makes the Territory so popular? We got to test one out for a few days, and if you’re thinking of getting one, here are four things we think you will love:

1. It rides and drives like a dream

Driving in gridlock is a pain—but when you’ve got a ride like the Territory, sitting in traffic or driving for hours can feel much more bearable.

The Territory excels in driving and riding comfort. Steering is light so it’s not tiring, and the suspension handles road bumps well. It also does a pretty good job of blocking outside noise.

Meanwhile, the perforated leather seats, strong AC unit (with second-row vents!), spacious cabin for five, loads of cup and bottle holders (a total of 7), and USB ports/12V power outlet all add up to the vehicle’s comfort and convenience.

2. It’s packed with tech goodies

At the center of the dash is a 10-inch infotainment system that lets you control the vehicle’s audio, air conditioning system, and other settings. Of course, it supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so you can plug in your phone and access it from the touchscreen. Speaking of, while the system supports touch controls, you can also use the buttons and knob at the center console to access settings.

Meanwhile, the all-digital instrument panel gives you access to data such as tire pressure monitor, fuel consumption, and many more.

3. It’s loaded with safety features

Thanks to advances in technology, more cars are getting active and passive safety features as standard. The Ford Territory Titanium+ is one of them. Apart from eight airbags, this crossover has a laundry list of safety features that will put you and your passengers’ mind at ease: automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot information system, hill launch assist, enhanced active park assist system, and a 360-degree view camera.

4. It looks great

Since you’ll be seeing it in your garage every day, it wouldn’t hurt if your vehicle is easy on the eyes, right? Well, this crossover looks handsome. It looks wide and low, and has a good balance of sportiness and sleekness.

It’s got big, bulging fender flares, skid plates, roof rails, a rear spoiler, and dual exhaust. Meanwhile, the headlamps, DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, and chrome accents give it just the right amount of elegance.

The Ford Territory is powered by a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 143hp and 225Nm—numbers that prove sufficient in daily driving.

Best of all, the fully kitted Titanium+ trim, with all its comfort and safety features, can be had for a P1,310,000—a steal considering all the features you get.
